It was noted at WetCanvas! that the sheep in my previous post was too clean, too white, and that I should add some watercolor mud to darken the coat. So, watercolor mud (usually watercolor mixes that turn to the color of mud) can be useful. The browns, greys, and blacks were actually mixes of Maimeriblu Primary Blue and Winsor Orange RS.
This mud-enhanced painting was scanned, and the one in my previous post was a photo taken outside, so there is a difference in the way the greens show, but I did nothing to the green areas, though the greens in the original painting are probably between the two posted images. Only the coat was darkened.

Great sheep, Jenny! His expression is priceless. I haven't yet seen the 'clean' one, but this one's fur looks perfect to me.

What a funny critique--your sheep is too clean. I like both of them. The new one has a nice glowing light around it and good modeling of form too. But the nice white one is so cheery looking.

Your sheep knows that he looks much better with more color. He looks a tad smug, in fact. :)
Darkening the coat lets you add that white backlight halo effect. Good job on the interesting eyes too.
I love the "muddy" version. This sheep looks like it knows how to have a good time in the field ;)
