A check from my mother arrived yesterday. There was a note that she had meant to send it to me earlier so I could buy an Easter bonnet. No, I would not buy nor wear an Easter bonnet!My thank-you note to her is on a postcard. It actually looks like me!
It's much easier to do something as a joke. No pressure to get everything right. The background color is a poor choice, but it doesn't matter. It's a joke. I am pleased with it overall.

What a great way to write your thank you note in an illustrated postcard! Are you sure you won’t wear an Easter bonnet? You look quite charming with it in the picture.
I enjoyed looking at all your sketches, but your self portrait with the bonnet really struck a chord with me. I love the attitude and ease of this little drawing.
