EDM #154 - Draw a Lemon

Since the yellow was ready, you have a bonus of two lemons instead of one!

Lemon is fantastic for so many things.

Lemonade! Two servings please. A spritz of lemon in my Coca-Cola is fun. Lemon in my iced-tea is a must.

Homemade lemon meringue pie is a favorite. If it's homemade, there's a good chance extra lemon juice and zest has been added.

I could go on, but I'm already beginning to feel the calories.

With so much time being spent on practicing drawing, I've been neglecting practicing with watercolors. That's what happens when trying to learn both at once, but sometimes I feel the progress. Nothing exceptional; just progress.

More WC Practice

The first was done in my large watercolor Moleskine, and I chickened out and used a pen first. Later, after thinking I'm such a chicken, I went for straight watercolor with minimal guidelines. I then threw caution to the winds and added a little background. I must get over my fear of making a complete mess, especially with backgrounds.

The odd thing that occurred is that the alizarin crimson on the Moleskine is dull, yet the same paint on the Fabriano Aristico is bright. The other colors are about the same, and the photo does not show the alizarin crimson differences. Lukas pan watercolors. Perhaps I used too much water each time in the Moleskine.

Just WC Practice

I haven't been practicing enough with my watercolors lately, so I made up some birds and painted them in my little, folded sketchbook. The are done with Lukas watercolors. Nice paint.

EDM #133 - Draw a Peach

It's not a real peach. It's a glass art peach that I was given after working on a presentation for an ad agency. They won the account.

Future BLT Component

This tomato will soon be joined with bacon for a delicious sandwich. I'm out of lettuce, but who cares! BLT's would suit me three times a day, though I do miss the old-fashioned, more acidic tomatoes.

Old Mill

Dyslexia does not help when drawing a 3-D object, and it offers many interesting, erasable lines. Though this is tight, it's looser than some previous watercolors. I'm not happy with this, but it's done.

EDM #126 - Draw a Sponge

Well, it's sorta', kinda' like a sponge.

This is the first page of another sketchbook using Nina Johansson's instructions, though this time I have used Fabriano Aristico 140# cold pressed paper.
