EDM #40

This fan was sent to me from Japan 35-40 years ago by the mother of a dear friend. It's in amazingly good shape for paper.

The painted background is too busy, but that's okay with me since I'm just beginning to practice on backgrounds. It would be a waste of time to work on something larger than a small Moleskine since that would only give me a larger area in which to mess up!

Beautiful colors! I often think my backgrounds are too busy too, but I don't find yours to be at all. It really sets off that fan nicely!

Your background is neutral, so that kind of calms it down, and the colors of the fan just pop right out! I think it is very pretty!

I don't think your background is too busy, in fact, it has nice dimension and could otherwise have been uninteresting and flat. Nice colors on your fan and it works great with the background colors

I think the background is fine, Jenny. The colors on the fan are stunning.

*I’m amaze that you can keep this fan in such good condition for a long time. My husband is like you; his childhood board toys are still intact with all the pieces. I think some people are “gifted” in preserving things.
