Another Tufted Titmouse

Yet another one. I'm switching to tube paints instead of pan paints, and I'm actually having more trouble with intensity than with the pan paints. I always kept the surface of the pan paints being used very wet, so I just need to mentally switch to the differences. Also, I enjoyed working out of pans onto porcelain dishes. Now I'm finding my large Robert Wood palette too large for me, and I'm awaiting the delivery of a portable palette with large wells and a detachable lid.

It's hard for me to put random colors in the backgrounds because though I enjoy the look, my personality is better suited to a predetermined, linear design or a solid. I'll eventually get the knack and control for more interesting backgrounds.

My printer is now printing decent copies of photos to use. Seems the previous problems were due to using an Office Depot color cartridge instead of the appropriate branded cartridge. No wonder the quality had degraded so much. Won't make that mistake again.

Thankyou so much for putting the Anonymous Critiques link on your link list: (posts from the 12th and 18th.) I am enjoying reading your blog, so full of useful lore that you are picking up & sharing as you work along. I'm just starting to blog & too am beginning to do art again after a long time. Really, I appreciate your inspiration and verve! You said that you use Flickr for some of your subject matter. Have you ever drawn from a paused DVD?

I don't have a DVD player, but I have a large collection of images on my computer plus books, magazines, and photo albums, so I have plenty to keep me busy.

Have fun with your art and blog.
