House Finch

Another bird. Not happy with this one, but I'm not going to skip any pages.

Noodler's ink just does not work for me in my watercolor Moleskine. Even after blotting, allowing to air dry, and lifting with kneaded rubber, the ink smudges or bleeds.

I decided to use two brushes I'd never used before, and I was awkward with both. It would be best for me at this point (new to watercolor) to continue with the brushes I've been using until my skill level improves. At least I'm not as afraid of backgrounds as I was originally, though they are never what I wish.

Well I love your little birdie, lovely fresh colours and the background sets the focal point off just nicely.

I really like your little bird - I'm sorry you're not happy with him. I think the colors are lovely, and the background is just wonderful.

I think he is very lively and charming actually. I also like the way you have handled the background. We are all our own worst critics though, aren't we?

I always prefer to be sure of my drawings and let see everybody those ones I am proud of, but I know that sure there will be many people that will not love them. And since there are great artists I don't like at all, maybe some of my works I am not proud of, will please somebody. All this just for saying you not to worry about this bird, even if you are not satisfied seems it pleases many people... like me. I really love it, it's so simple, and so expresive...
