Well, so much for trying to loosen up with my pencil sketches. The first one is amazingly tight. It's odd trying to draw such distorted figures. I don't need help with distortion, thank you. These were done from photographs I found online.EDIT: I decided to scribble in some colored pencil:
I'll wait awhile before trying more gargoyles. They are fascinating, but dyslexia and gargoyles do not go well together.

Well done! We have gargoyles all over the place around here and I always enjoy looking at them. Sometimes the stone masons took revenge on their bosses by depicting them in gargoyle form (when paychecks were late?)

I think the way you have used colour on these gargoyles is very good indeed. Exactly the right amount to give form and emphasize the 3dness.
I often find my first drawing or two of the day are tight - i usually would do two or three warm up sketches to get my hand moving - preferably in co-ordination with my eye!
Your pencil work is very good. Love your lettering on this one too.
Love the gargoyles! If you figure out how to loosen up sometimes, but also maintain the ability to do tight (i.e. more realistic) sketches, please let me know. Perhaps I will try doing a few warm up sketches before starting the "real" journal page for the day. Can't hurt!
